Image Manifest

Every image planned for this site is listed here with its file path, the page that uses it, intended dimensions, descriptive alt text, and a brief sourcing note.

Image files are self-hosted in static/images/. Image references are wired into page front matter and layout templates. Some files may not yet be present on disk; this is acceptable during development. Missing paths listed here are placeholders that must be replaced with real files before final publication.

All images must be JPG, not PNG. No more than one image per post-level page.

Hero Images

These images are used on section landing pages and core pages. Recommended dimensions: 1600 x 900 pixels (16:9 ratio). Minimum 1200px wide for retina display quality.

Notes on Sourcing

All images must be self-hosted and served from static/images/. No external image URLs should appear in page front matter or template code.

Images should be contextually appropriate and documentary in feel. Avoid:

  • Stock images of traders looking at screens
  • Glowing coin or blockchain graphics
  • Staged “tech startup” photography
  • Generic diversity stock photography

Suitable sources for free-to-use photography with appropriate licensing:

  • Unsplash (check individual licences)
  • Pexels (check individual licences)
  • Direct photography from community sessions (with consent)

Every image added to the site must have a corresponding row in this manifest updated with the actual sourcing note.
